Scott Billiot
Scott Billiot, founder of Kierkegaard, LLC, brings over two decades of commercial experience to the practice of law. Scott started his career at ACES Power, where he was responsible for trading, hedging, and power supply procurement for G&T co-ops and municipalities across the country. After seven years at ACES, Scott moved on to Oglethorpe Power, where he served as Director of Energy & Operational Interfaces -- overseeing power marketing, coal procurement, operations and maintenance budgets for co-owned plants, economic dispatch reporting, and implementation of wholesale power rates. After a decade of service at Oglethorpe Power, Scott went on to obtain his law degree from Georgia State College of Law, during which he worked as Managing Director with industry consulting firm GDS Associates, Inc., supporting utility clients and developers in managing power supply, fuel supply, and generation assets in the wholesale markets. As an attorney, Scott has supported electric industry participants from coast to coast on a wide range of legal matters, including negotiation of master wholesale purchase agreements, power plant offtake contracts, RFP solicitations, settlement agreements, construction law compliance, eminent domain proceedings, federal agency filings, and other related matters. Additionally, Scott regularly supports clients with legal matters related to general corporate governance, including corporate risk management, corporate bylaws drafting and compliance, open-records acts issues, and similar matters.
